Exness is probably the broker our community asks about most, and the reason is usually the same: withdrawals that arrive in minutes. It also offers $10 cent accounts, low spreads on gold and forex, and no inactivity fee. It is a large, well-established broker. Its weak points are the ones it markets hardest: “unlimited” leverage, and a structure where most retail clients are served by offshore entities.

Why traders choose Exness
Ask a group of traders why they use Exness and most will mention withdrawals first. Exness processes most withdrawals automatically, and e-wallet and crypto withdrawals commonly arrive within minutes rather than days. Skrill and Neteller are listed as instant to one day, BinancePay and SticPay as instant to 30 minutes. Bank cards can be used to deposit but not to withdraw.
That speed matters for a practical reason. A broker that pays out quickly is a broker you can test cheaply. Deposit a small amount, trade, withdraw, and see the money arrive before you commit more. With Exness you can run that test in a single afternoon.
Exness also publishes its monthly trading volumes and audited financial reports. That level of openness is unusual for a privately owned retail broker.
What trading costs
| Account | Minimum | Spread from | Commission |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $10 | 0.2 pips | None |
| Standard Cent | $10 | 0.3 pips | None |
| Pro | $200 | 0.1 pips | None |
| Raw Spread | $200 | 0.0 pips | Up to $3.50 per side |
| Zero | $200 | 0.0 pips | Varies by instrument |
Advertised “from” spreads are best-case numbers. In FXEmpire’s test, the Standard account averaged 0.9 pips on EUR/USD and 16 cents on gold, both below the industry averages of about 1.1 pips and 25 cents.
0.9 pips × $10, no commission
16 cents × 100 oz, no commission
Those are some of the best commission-free numbers on our list. The gold figure is in the same range as TMGM, and well below XM Standard. For most of our community, the Standard account is all you need. Raw Spread and Zero suit high-volume traders who want the tightest possible spread and don’t mind commission.
Swaps
Swap-free trading is available on all account types. One point to know: Exness doesn’t pay positive swap on forex, even when the interest rate difference would normally earn you a credit. That rarely matters for intraday traders, but carry traders should note it.
The leverage problem
Exness advertises leverage up to 1:2000, and “unlimited” leverage for accounts that qualify. To qualify, your equity must be under $5,000, and you must have closed at least ten orders and traded at least five lots across your real accounts.
Notice who qualifies: accounts with less than $5,000. That is exactly the group most likely to over-trade. With unlimited leverage, a $50 account can open positions that a single normal move wipes out. The leverage itself doesn’t cause losses, oversized positions do, but unlimited leverage removes the last brake on them.
Our advice doesn’t change from broker to broker. Decide your risk first, 1% of your balance, then calculate the position size from your stop loss with our lot size calculator. Do that, and it makes no difference whether your account allows 1:100 or unlimited. The leverage and margin risk lesson explains the maths.
The cent account
The Standard Cent account shows your balance in US cents, so $10 appears as 1,000. One cent lot is 1,000 units of currency, a hundredth of a standard lot. On EUR/USD, the smallest trade is worth a fraction of a cent per pip.
Like XM’s Micro account, this is useful for genuine beginners and for testing a strategy with real execution and real emotions at almost no cost. Just remember that the numbers on screen look a hundred times bigger than they are. Our position sizing lesson works the same way in cents as in dollars.
Regulation: big group, offshore accounts
Exness holds licences from the FCA in the UK and CySEC in Cyprus, plus regulators in South Africa, Kenya, Jordan, Seychelles, the British Virgin Islands, Curaçao and Mauritius. That looks strong on paper.
But Exness doesn’t serve retail clients in the UK or most of the EU. The FCA and CySEC licences cover other business. Retail traders in South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America are usually onboarded by an entity in Seychelles, Curaçao, the BVI or Mauritius, depending on the country. These are light regulators with no compensation schemes.
Exness is one of the largest retail brokers in the world and has operated since 2008, so it is not a fly-by-night firm. But as with every broker in this series, read the company name on your client agreement and check it in our licence checker. Keep only what you need for trading on the account.
Platforms and copy trading
- MT4 and MT5 — the full MetaTrader platforms with EAs and custom indicators.
- Exness Terminal — a web platform with TradingView charts and Trading Central analysis. It lacks trailing stops.
- Exness Trade app — for trading, deposits and withdrawals on your phone.
- Copy trading — built into the client area, with return and drawdown figures for each strategy and your own stop loss, take profit and daily loss limits.
If you copy strategy providers, judge them on maximum drawdown and track record, not on last month’s return.
Exness supports MT4 and MT5, so it works with Telegram Trade Linker. Our signals have one entry, one stop loss and one take profit, and TTL places them automatically. If you use a Standard Cent account, remember that lots there are cent lots, and check that your copier’s lot size matches before going live. Exness may also add a suffix to symbol names, such as gold with an extra letter, so confirm the symbol mapping first.
Markets and support
Exness offers 123 forex pairs, more than almost any broker we review, plus metals, energies, 15 indices, about 100 share CFDs and 35 crypto CFDs. For forex and gold traders it’s ample. For share traders it’s thin, and some index spreads, such as the DAX, are wider than average.
Live chat runs around the clock in many languages. Education is basic, so for structured learning use our free Trading Academy.
Who Exness suits — and who it doesn’t
A good fit if you…
- want withdrawals that arrive quickly
- trade gold and forex on a commission-free account
- are starting small and want a cent account
- copy signals into MT4 or MT5 with TTL
- trade less common currency pairs
Look elsewhere if you…
- live in the UK or EU as a retail client
- want a top-tier regulator behind your own account
- know you’re tempted to over-leverage
- trade carry and want positive swaps
- want a wide range of share CFDs or strong education
How we scored Exness
4.9
4.6
4.3
3.8
3.8
3.3
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Exness is excellent on the things traders feel every day: costs and payouts. It loses points because most retail clients sit with offshore entities, and because unlimited leverage on small accounts is an invitation to blow them.
The bottom line
Exness earns its popularity. It’s cheap on gold and forex, fast to pay out, and easy to start with from $10. For a disciplined trader who sizes from the stop loss, it’s one of the most practical brokers available in our region.
The danger is in the marketing. Unlimited leverage sounds like freedom, and for an undisciplined trader it’s the fastest way to zero. Ignore it, keep your risk at 1%, withdraw profits regularly, and Exness is a very good broker to have.
Frequently asked questions
Is Exness safe and regulated?
Exness holds licences from the FCA, CySEC, FSCA and others, and has operated since 2008. Most retail clients outside the UK and EU are served by offshore entities in Seychelles, Curaçao, the BVI or Mauritius, which have lighter rules and no compensation scheme.
What is the minimum deposit at Exness?
$10 for the Standard and Standard Cent accounts, and $200 for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. Minimums can vary by payment method and country.
How fast are Exness withdrawals?
Most withdrawals are processed automatically. E-wallets and crypto often arrive within minutes and are listed as up to one day. Bank cards can be used for deposits but not withdrawals.
What is Exness unlimited leverage?
A setting available to accounts with equity under $5,000 that have closed at least ten orders and traded at least five lots. It removes the leverage cap on many instruments. It doesn’t change how much a trade risks, but it makes oversized trades very easy, so size from your stop loss instead.
Does Exness have a cent account?
Yes. The Standard Cent account starts from $10 and shows your balance in cents. One cent lot is a hundredth of a standard lot, which suits beginners and strategy testing.
Does Exness work with MT4, MT5 and Telegram signals?
Yes. Exness supports MT4 and MT5, so Telegram Trade Linker can copy signals automatically. Check symbol names and cent-lot settings before going live.
CFDs and leveraged forex carry a high risk of losing money quickly, and most retail accounts lose money. This review is for information only and is not financial advice.
